Also it was my birthday! I've been in Cambodia for over a year now! And I still love it! Vietnamese still rocks! I actually picked up a stupid little virus (it mostly just have me a headache and a fever) and was kind of sick on my birthday, but I got to hang out at the mission home and color pictures like a little kid, so I still had fun.
Transfers are this week, and after over a year in Branch 3, I am being transferred to Branch 6. I said good-bye to Branch 3 by singing the Vietnamese translation of "As Sisters in Zion" that Chi Huong and I did during a couple of our language study sessions. I'm going to miss Branch 3 a lot. That's where I was born in Southeast Asia. My Cambodian mom is there, and it's where I learned to talk (in Vietnamese). It's my home and my family in Cambodia.
Branch 6 is going to be a blast though because Chi Ha and I are going to be companions! Chi Ha is definitely on my list of favorite missionaries of all time. She is absolutely one of the very best, and we have a lot of fun together. Sister Moon is happy for us. She told me back in March that she saw how Chi Ha and I just clicked and she hoped that the two of us would get to be companions some day. That day will arrive towards the end of this week, and I am so excited! Chi Ha's response to transfers was to exclaim, "We can't laugh too much or we'll cry!"
I love Cambodia! I love Vietnamese! The mission is awesome! Branch 3 rocks and Branch 6 will too!
P.S. Kudos to anyone who knows the song quoted in the subject line.
